MIND-BODY INTEGRATION TRAINING
AN EMOTIONAL SPA
Did you fly off the handle again even though you promised yourself you wouldn’t?
Do sleeping pills and anti-depressants seem to have lost their effectiveness?
Is forgetfulness and inability to focus your thoughts driving you nuts?
Are you still smoking even though you said you’d stop?
Are you still drinking when you promised yourself and others you wouldn’t?
Did you get another call from the school because your child just can’t seem to pay attention in class?
Are you having difficulty controlling your eating and managing your weight?
Has your doctor told you it’s all due to “STRESS” or “HORMONES?”
At Last, an Effective Non-Drug Approach to Stress-Related Emotional, Learning, and Physical Problems
Mind-Body Integration Training (MIT) is a breakthrough non-invasive, non-drug approach to relieving stress-related emotional and thinking difficulties. Developed by a board certified neurologist, this system of re-training brainwave patterns has been shown to improve or eliminate problems associated with:
Attention/Concentration
Addiction/Compulsion
Anxiousness/Nervousness
Sad/Negative Mood
Forgetfulness
Chronic Pain Coping
Pre-Menstrual Irritability
Post Traumatic Stress
Sleep Difficulties
Overeating/Weight Management
By combining EEG biofeedback, photic stimulation, and auditory/visual programs, this state-of-the-art, computerized multi-sensory approach interrupts ineffective mental patterns and habitual, non-productive thoughts. By balancing the brain and calming the nervous system, new thought patterns are allowed to break through the old filters responsible for causing a wide variety of emotional and thinking problems.
Mind-Body Integration Training (MIT) simply "relaxes and releases" the brain into more healthy and adaptive patterns. The plasticity of the brain and body allows us to re-learn and change maladaptive behaviors. As a participant, you can sit back, relax, and let the technology restore healthy integrated mind-body functioning.
Our emotions are a reflection of the energy in our brains: excess beta wave activity can produce anxiety, too much frontal lobe alpha wave activity can result in depression, or elevated theta wave activity can produce attention/concentration problems. By normalizing brainwave patterns, your central nervous system learns how to self-regulate, directing you away from painful, debilitating problems, and toward reclaiming your well-being.
What causes the brain's dominant frequencies to get stuck? While genetics and birth complications can be contributing factors, research studies show that unresolved post-traumatic stress can push the brain into patterns of chronic over-stimulation, where it gradually loses its ability to recover. Eventually, the traumatized brain may lapse into chronic excessive vigilance (fear/nervousness), apathy and helplessness (depressed, negative mood), inability to recall experiences (memory problems), and other maladaptive changes in brain function.
The anatomical connections make it clear that human beings are "hard-wired" to respond physically to that which affects the brain. Depressed, anxious persons often have elevated levels of cortisol, a hormone that suppresses the immune system. According to Dr. Candice Pert, Research Professor of Physiology and Biophysics, neuropeptides (the brain chemicals associated with feelings of anger, sadness, love or hate), are also present in vital immune system organs, including the spleen, lymph glands, and thymus gland, "It's literally as if bits of brain are rooted throughout our bodies" says Pert. Mind-body modalities such as Mind-Body Integration Training (MIT) can alter neurochemistry and balance serotonin, dopamine, and other neuropeptides which can ultimately restore optimum immune function.
Research and clinical studies show that many situations unresponsive to medication or psychotherapy can be resolved within ten to twenty training sessions. At the other end of the spectrum, chronic disorders, spanning many years, including those complicated by substance abuse, may sometimes show improvement after even just one treatment.
FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE
MIT is not just for identified problems and stress-related issues. Anyone interested in improving their mental performance and reaching a calmer state of mind can benefit from it. Everyone from students to athletes to musicians to business executives can use MIT to improve their focus, mental clarity, memory and creativity to achieve peak performance. Peak performance is an easily recognized mental state where you are completely focused and calm. We have all had experiences of peak performance, but these are usually fleeting and not reproducible.
Here are some common elements of the peak performance state:
- Ability to focus and attend to the task at hand
- Flexibility of attention
- Clarity of thought
- Absence of self-consciousness
- Ability to control breathing and adrenaline
- No fear of failure
- A sense of personal control
- Heightened intuition and awareness
- Effortlessness
- An altered state of consciousness
- Spontaneous appropriate reactions and responses
